BookPage, a national monthly book review publication just assembled its list of Top 10 Summer Reading Selections for Middle Grade Readers for 2012.  I'm happy to report that

The Naperville Public Library Kids' Books staff recently picked their favorites for the month of September (2012), and I'm happy to say that "Charlie Collier, Snoop for Hire:  The Homemade Stuffing Caper" made the list.

School District 203 officials in Naperville (IL) just announced the list of books for their BATTLE OF THE BOOKS competition for the upcoming school year. And I am happy to report that the first Charlie Collier book, "The Homemade Stuffing Caper," has been added to that list. It's an honor to be included in such an elite group. Penguin Books for Young Readers has included "The Homemade Stuffing Caper" in a special brochure for educators. A new initiative called Common Core will soon be in effect in schools across the nation. It's a way to create a common set of educational standards from state to state. Many publishers, Penguin included, have created educational brochures for teachers. Glen Ellyn (IL) School District 41 recently released their summer reading list of recommended books for incoming 4th graders...and I'm happy to report that "The Homemade Stuffing Caper" is one of their choices. Here's the entire list.

Follett recently released its list of Recommended Books for STRUGGLING AND RELUCTANT READERS.  Books 2 and 3 in the Charlie Collier, Snoop for Hire series ("The Camp Phoenix Caper" and "The Copycat Caper") made the list in the Fiction Genre for Grades 5 through 8.  Look for them on page 13 of this document.

John Madormo's "The Homemade Stuffing Caper," the first book in the Charlie Collier Snoop for Hire mystery series, has been chosen as one of the books in the annual ILLINOIS READS program. The Illinois Reading Council picks only 6 books for readers in grades 3 through 5 for the 2014-2015 school year, and we're happy to report that Charlie made the cut. John had the pleasure of judging submissions from 6th grade poets at The 4th Annual Teen Poetry Contest at the Naperville Public Library.  There were some wonderful submissions, and some very difficult choices.  Here is a list of the first, second, and third place winners, as well as the names of those who received honorable mentions.

Suzanne Jordan, a reading specialist at Parkside Elementary School in Lawrenceville, IL decided that all of her students should have a book to call their own. Each grade received a different book.  Every third grade student at Parkside received a copy of the first Charlie Collier book, "The Homemade Stuffing Caper."  Read the story.
